For the families of some of my patients, and anyone who has lost a loved one, whether they’re betrothed, immediate family, or a close friend. There are many forms of societal norms for living with, and hopefully overcoming, grief. Composed acknowledgment. Messy melt down. Denial. I wanted to reflect the struggle of trying to carry on, overwhelmed by memories and physical reminders, and striving ever so hard to live up to what that person thought of you, and saving the best parts of them for you and you alone.
